...και όταν λέω φωτογραφίες μας, εννοώ αυτές που έχουμε τραβήξει εμείς! Η εξέλιξη της ψηφιακής τεχνολογίας έχει δώσει στον καθένα την δυνατότητα να ασχολήθει αρκετά εύκολα με την φωτογραφία ως τέχνη (απ'ότι με την ζωγραφίκη ή άλλες κλασικές τέχνες), αφού ακόμα και μια κάμερα κινητού μπορεί να αποθανατήσει μια αξέχαστη στιγμή. Βέβαια, η στιγμή δεν είναι ο μόνος παράγοντας μιας καλής φωτογραφίας, αλλά αυτό δεν έχει σημασία! Ποστάρετε οτιδήποτε θα θέλατε να μοιραστείτε μαζί μας!

(μεγάλη φωτογραφία! You have been warned)

It was Election Day. I was to meet up with my father, but because he was late, he SMSed me and told me to go for a walk till he was there.

My father's home in Athens is close to the Acroplois, so I decided to go for a walk up Dionysiou Aeropagitou. Spontaneously, I also went up Filopapou Hill, one of the best vantage points over Athens. There's this ledge where people always go to see, no, to admire Acropolis and the Parthenon.

I see appreciation in this picture. People really comprehending what they have in front of them: one of the great wonders of the ancient world, one of the real human accomplishments that transcends time. This is not a picture of the Acropolis. It's a picture of a young couple feeling the romance of the scene and a person that understands the importance of his subject. It's a picture of people admiring antiquity.
